We did have a lovely day with the Finnster, however, including:<br clear=\"all\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Banging away on our neighbor&#8217;s truck, dropping a severed antenna repeatedly into a hole (&#8220;BOOM!&#8221;)<\/li>\n<li>Learning the letter &#8220;W&#8221; (gleefully pronounced &#8220;Double<i>YOOOuu!&#8221;<\/i>) in the course of inspecting\/washing mom&#8217;s VW<\/li>\n<li>Discovering hot dogs (&#8220;Meat!&#8221;) and kazoos during a neighborhood toy store&#8217;s little concert (featuring cascading bubbles)<\/li>\n<li>Dining with pals at our friend Julieanne&#8217;s house, where &#8220;Hoot&#8221; (Hughes) remained a person of great fascination. \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/finnegan\/fourth_of_july_09\/\">Here&#8217;s our little gallery<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/finnegan\/fourth_of_july_09_html\/\">HTML<\/a>) from the day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, our nation&#8217;s birthday came and went without becoming El Segundo&#8217;s birthday, so we can&#8217;t report any fireworks on that front.
