{"id":8202,"date":"2019-07-30T10:23:34","date_gmt":"2019-07-30T17:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/micronaxx\/?p=8202"},"modified":"2019-07-30T10:27:52","modified_gmt":"2019-07-30T17:27:52","slug":"illinois-adventures-big-g-beyond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/micronaxx\/2019\/07\/30\/illinois-adventures-big-g-beyond\/","title":{"rendered":"Illinois Adventures: Big G &#038; Beyond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They say it takes a village to raise a child\u2014or in our case, to photograph one. &#x1f60c;<\/p>\n<p>Following our trip to Colorado, Finn &amp; Hen set out on their first unaccompanied trip to visit Grandma &amp; Grandpa Nack. Armed with iPads, flip phones, and what proved to be a truly ungodly number of in-flight cookies (thanks, kindly flight attendants!), they got through the process without a hitch. After landing, highlights of the trip included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visiting the Botanical Gardens with my folks.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting up with lots &amp; lots of cousins at Aunt Judy &amp; Uncle Bruce\u2019s house where they celebrated Henry\u2019s 10th birthday &amp; enjoyed a cake from Katie. Aunt Judy fell in love with Hen, we\u2019re told, and cousin Matt observed, \u201cThat Finn is one cool dude.\u201d &#x263a;&#xfe0f;<\/li>\n<li>Riding on the milk route with Uncle Ted (9 hours for Finn, starting around 3am!) and on the Alpine Slide (a birthday treat for Hen while Finn caught up on lost sleep!).<\/li>\n<li>Cruising down the Galena pool\u2019s slide dozens &amp; dozens of times.<\/li>\n<li>Cuddling with \u201cJames,\u201d the little stuffed pooch Grandma thoughtfully gave to Seamus-missing Finn.<\/li>\n<li>\u2026and no doubt a bunch more I\u2019m forgetting!
