{"id":8468,"date":"2020-03-15T00:08:12","date_gmt":"2020-03-15T07:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/micronaxx\/?p=8468"},"modified":"2022-09-13T14:09:04","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T21:09:04","slug":"yosemite-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jnack.com\/micronaxx\/2020\/03\/15\/yosemite-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Yosemite 2020!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Feeling a bit stir crazy last weekend, we decided to get the heck out of Dodge &amp; take the Westy off to Yosemite\u2014and this time we didn\u2019t even get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jnack.com\/micronaxx\/2017\/11\/26\/yosemite-2016-now-it-can-be-told\/\">stuck in snow<\/a>! If you\u2019re impatient,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/MA9Zfq7uEV8gonpt5\">hop right to our photo gallery,<\/a> or read on for an overview.<\/p>\n<p>After tucking in Mr. Seamus at a friendly dog boarder, we cruised out on Friday afternoon. After arriving in the valley near sundown &amp; pausing for some horseplay by Bridalveil Fall, we made our way to Camp Curry &amp; cozy cabin 4A. The moon illuminated our spectacular little nighttime hikes as we watched Orion\u2019s belt rise over the sheer mountain cliffs behind us. Even our cold &amp; grousing tween had to acknowledge the grandeur. &#x1f60c;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/V7dsiD9Yzv4YjwcTA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"UntitledImage.png\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/UntitledImage-7.png\" alt=\"UntitledImage\" width=\"530\" height=\"690\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saturday proved to be somewhat overcast, chilly, and eventually rainy\u2014but undeterred we headed out for a guided Ansel Adams photo walk led by an accomplished nature photographer. Henry enjoyed seeing Ansel\u2019s prints juxtaposed with the real subjects behind them, noting what\u2019s changed (trees, bridges) and the eternal mountains that haven&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/V7dsiD9Yzv4YjwcTA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"UntitledImage.png\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/UntitledImage-8.png\" alt=\"UntitledImage\" width=\"530\" height=\"323\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After warming up a bit at the visitor\u2019s center, we hiked over to what we dubbed back in 2010 \u201cThe Dad-O Falls &amp; Goonie Falls\u201d (i.e. one big, one little). We pit stopped for lunch, reading, and recharging, then motored up to the spectacular Tunnel View before making our way back down to the beautiful Awahnee Lodge for dinner &amp; drinks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/V7dsiD9Yzv4YjwcTA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"UntitledImage.png\" src=\"http:\/\/jnack.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/UntitledImage-9.png\" alt=\"UntitledImage\" width=\"530\" height=\"199\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally, on Sunday morning (newly bright &amp; crisp!), we headed off to a brief &amp; easy hike to nearby Mirror Lake before packing up the Westy &amp; heading back to civilization (and our wiggly friend!).
